Tokyo Idol Festival 2017 announced that the 3rd generation of Nogizaka46 will appear on stage at the event. The first time ever the 3rd generation of Nogizaka46 at the unveiling of the event.
The 3rd generation of Nogizaka46 includes Momoko Ozono and Yuki Yada, who are eventually assigned to the double center on their 18th single. The group will appear on 6 August, the final day of the event.
Nogizaka46 is a Japanese female idol group produced by Yasushi Akimoto, built as the official rival of the group AKB48. Nogizaka46 was named after the place where the SME Nogizaka Building, which houses Sony Music Japan’s office, is located in. Their producer Yasushi Akimoto also said that the number “46” was chosen as a direct challenge to AKB48.
On August 21, 2015, their associated group Keyakizaka46 was established.
Tokyo Idol Festival 2017 now covers 211 idol groups. TOKYO IDOL Festival is a annual music festival held in Tokyo. The festival started in 2010 and feature different idol groups from Japan. TIF 2017 is held on August 4 (Fri), 5 (Sat) and 6 (Sun).
