Yui Aragaki , also known as “Gakky” in public in Japan, is not only an actress but also a model and singer in her old days. She debut modeled for several magazines in Japan when she was teen. After she debut as an actress with Koizora, a film released four singles entitled “Make My Day,” “Akai Ito,” “Piece,” and “Utsushie.” Moreover, she also released three albums entitled “Sora,” “Hug,” and “Niji.” Her song “Heavenly Days” is memorable to most of her fans because of the touching story of her film Sky of Love (Koizora).

Aragaki Yui’s first ever drama series project is Shibuya Fifteen (Sh15uya) in 2005. It was followed by Dragon Zakura which she co-starred with Abe Hiroshi, Yamashita Tomohisa, Nagasawa Masami, Nakao Akiyoshi, Koike Teppei, Saeko, etc. In this drama, Gakky played as a high school student who needs to improve her studies.

In 2006, Gakky starred in two more drama series, namely My Boss, My Hero and Galcir. In the year 2007, she acted alongside Tachi Hiroshi and portrayed as his daughter in the drama Seven Days of a Daddy and a Daughter (Papa to Musume no Nanokakan) wherein the souls of the father and the daughter are switched.

Come year 2008, Gakky acted alongside Yamashita Tomohisa again in the medical drama series Code Blue and in its second season in 2010. Before Code Blue Season 2, she played as a young woman who lost her ability to speak in the 2009 drama series Smile.

Moreover, in the year 2011, Gakky acted alongside popular Johnny’s idol Nishikido Ryo in Full Throttle Girl (Zenkai Girl) wherein her role was a young international lawyer who dreams of earning 10 billion yen per year. She also played as a young lawyer in Legal High Seasons 1 and 2 alongside popular and great actor Sakai Masato.

In year 2013, Gakky portrayed as a young reporter in the drama series Public Affairs Office in the Sky (Soratobu Kouhoushitsu) and in 2014, she played as a policeman in the last two episodes of S: The Last Policeman. Lastly, her project just before We Married as Job is The Memorandum of Kyoko Okitegami wherein she played a private detective who loses her memory every time she sleeps.

Aragaki Yui started with voice acting in a 2006 anime movie entitled Cho Gekijo-ban Keroro Gunso. Her first real starring film, Tokyo Serendipity (Koisuru Madori), was released in the year 2007 wherein she played as Aoki Yui who is a young art student suddenly facing the real world on her own.

Gakky’s popular movie both in Japan and overseas, Sky of Love (Koizora) (2007), earned her the Best Newcomer Award at the 50th Blue Ribbon Awards. Also in the same year, she played as a student named Yamada in the film Waruboro.

In year 2008, Gakky played as a young, quiet, and lonely high school student whose only passion is traditional cheer squad in the movie Cheer Cheer Cheer!Came year 2009, she played as a young princess in the movie Ballad: Namonaki Koi no Uta.

In year 2010, Gakky played alongside Ikuta Toma as his lover in the film Hanamizuki which is about hope and hardships resulting from a long distance relationship. It is based on a 2004 pop song of the same title by Hitoto You. This was also the first time that Gakky played as an adult character.

In 2011, Gakky played alongside Abe Hiroshi again in the film The Wings of the Kirin. Came 2014, she played as a young mother for the first time in the movie Twilight: Saya in Sasara with Oizumi Yo. In 2015, she portrayed as a piano teacher in Have a Song on Your Lips and as a young policewoman in the film S: The Last Policeman: Recovery of Our Future.
