Fumika Shimizu is a Japanese actress and gravure idol, is most notable for playing the heroin Yuki Jojima, in Kamen Rider Fourze. In June 2016, she was cast in the role of Toka Kirishima in the live-action film adaptation of the popular manga series Tokyo Ghoul.

Japanese Actress Fumika Shimizu (age 22),  announced her decision to retire from the entertainment industry on February 11th.  Shimizu has stated that she intends to become a member of the controversial religious organization Happy Science and wishes to devote herself fully to their activities. Shimizu’s officially recognized Twitter account has already been deleted, and she has already opened a new Twitter account saying, “There were and are various reasons.”  Shimizu has already completed the filming of the movie adaptation of the novel Girls in the Dark which was scheduled to release on April 1st.  However, due to her sudden demand to leave entertainment, it is currently unknown whether or not this film and others she’s already filmed for will in fact see release.

Happy Science, established in 1986, has been described as being controversial, with some outlets identifying them as a cult.  The founder Ryuho Okawa claims to be the incarnation of a being known as El Cantare and channels the spirits of such spiritual and religious leaders as Christ, Muhammad, Confucius, and Buddha.  Shimizu was introduced to the religious organization as a child and had been following their teachings without her agency’s knowledge.
